Healy Toll Road Tract

The Connection between stack rock and avimor, permanently protected

Recreation, wildlife, and history. The Healy Toll Road Tract has these elements in abundance. This 560 acre parcel is a puzzle piece of land, connecting Stack Rock Reserve to Avimor. The area is home to diverse plant and animal life, including wintering mule deer and elk. Once a homestead for early settlers, the property also has rich history from Idaho’s pioneer days.

The Land Trust of the Treasure Valley purchased the Healy Toll Road Tract in early 2018, and in December 2020 transferred the property to the Bureau of Land Management for long-term management, public access, and preservation in perpetuity.

Upper Dry Creek

A secluded pocket high in the Boise foothills, the Upper Dry Creek watershed spans 6,000 acres. Dry Creek is a rare perennial tributary to the Boise River and it supports a population of native redband trout as well as stunning wildflower displays and important habitat for migrating birds and large mammals.

Nearly 3,400 acres of the Upper Dry Creek watershed are privately owned. As a result of a unique partnership between the Grossman Family, Ridge to Rivers, and the Land Trust of the Treasure Valley, much of this land is protected under conservation agreements. Trail easements granted by the landowner allow public access to hiking and biking trails from the headwaters of Dry Creek to the lower portion of the watershed at Bogus Basin Road.

Star River Walk

The Land Trust partnered with the community of Star to complete the first segment of the Star RiverWalk, a corridor of nature and trails along the Boise River.

The Star Riverwalk Park is a popular area for families to enjoy fishing, swimming, and hiking along the Boise River.
